Your Subconscious Mind Is Like a Garden

Your subconscious mind is like a garden — it’s designed to grow whatever you plant.

The challenge is that most of us haven’t cleared out the weeds. Old fears, doubts, and limiting beliefs take root and compete with the new “seeds” we try to plant.

For example: you may set the intention to get promoted or build a thriving business, but if deep down you’re holding on to fears of responsibility, failure or being seen, those fears will interfere. You might procrastinate, “never have the time,” or show up inconsistently.

Your subconscious is incredibly clever. If it perceives success as a threat — whether through fear of failure, fear of judgment, fear of responsibility, fear of criticism or fear of losing relationships — it will create subtle behaviors to protect you. This self-protection may feel like sabotage, but it’s simply the mind doing its job: protect you from danger.

If you want to create lasting change without constant friction, you need to clear those subconscious blocks. That’s part of the work we focus on at Wondersource.

Here’s how it works:

1. Identify the block

Subconscious blocks always show up in behavior or results. By looking at where you’re stuck or triggered, we can uncover the hidden belief underneath.

When triggered, ask yourself:

  • What am I making this situation mean about myself or the world?

  • Is this the ultimate truth?

  • What else could be true?

  • What am I choosing to believe going forward?

When stuck, ask yourself:

  • What do I love about not having the results I want yet?

  • How am I actually benefitting from not moving forward?

  • What part of me doesn’t feel safe having the results I want?

  • What else could be true?

Whatever is revealed from these questions points to where you’re not yet free or your “blocks.” We don’t actually like the word blocks because you aren’t blocked from anything but for ease of explanation, we’re using that word in this context.

2. Accept it

Blocks only hold power because of the negative emotion attached to them. When we learn to accept ourselves and our past — not by resigning to it forever, but by releasing resistance — we free up enormous energy and neutralise the negative charge. Ironically, acceptance is often the gateway to real change.

3. Imprint new beliefs

Once we’ve neutralized old patterns, we create space to plant new ones. This is where hypnosis, affirmations, tapping, visualization, and other practices work far more effectively. Without the weeds, the seeds of confidence, resilience, and success can finally take root.

Give yourself the gift of freeing yourself from old limiting patterns and beliefs that are no longer serving you.
