Goal Setting: Dream Big and Claim What You Really Want

“A lot of people are afraid to say what they want. That's why they don't get what they want.” – Madonna

One of the most powerful steps toward building a life that lights you up is being honest about what you actually want. Not what feels safe. Not what’s expected. What your soul desires.

The Power of Clarity

Many of the world’s most successful leaders and creatives share one key habit: they write their goals down—clearly, vividly, and with deep emotional connection. And they do it regularly.

✨ Some regularly script about their goals and add specific dates.

✨ Others (like Bob Proctor) carry a goal card in their pocket and read it aloud every day.

✨ Manifestation teachers talk about “feeling it real”—stepping into the identity of someone who already has what they desire.

As silly as it might feel to script your dream life or “speak it into existence,” there’s a reason so many people swear by these practices. They’re powerful tools for reprogramming the subconscious mind—helping your body feel safe with success, and making the extraordinary feel familiar.

And when your energy is aligned with your desire—your actions follow.

But There’s a Deeper Layer

Big dreams require big growth. They ask us to become someone new—not because we’re broken, but because our current self hasn’t yet built the capacity to hold what we’re calling in.

This growth might look like:

  • Healing the nervous system so it feels safe to succeed, to believe in yourself, to stand in your power, to transform your fears

  • Rewiring limiting beliefs about worth, love, or wealth

  • Learning to lead with faith, not fear

  • Releasing outdated patterns of hustle, proving, or perfectionism

  • Letting go of the timeline—and trusting the process

Sometimes, the real gift isn’t the goal—it’s who you become in the process.

Key Truths About Goal-Setting

If they feel impossible or far away, that’s not a problem.

You don’t need fixing. But you might need expansion and to cultivate a more empowered identity.

Success requires nervous system safety, not just strategy.

You must believe your desires are possible and safe to receive.

You have to be honest about what you want—without guilt, pressure, attachment or needing them to be happy or to validate you in any way. In other words, want what you want and choose to be happy with or without it.

Do the work and all that you know how to do towards achieving your goals, allow it to come and trust that life will meet you and it’s not entirely all on you.

Your timeline may stretch to bring you the lessons you need (think humility, confidence, compassion, trust, wholeness).

When you visualise your goals as already achieved—and feel the emotions now—you rewire your subconscious to accept and allow them in. This is not just manifestation. It’s neuroscience.

Common Obstacles to Achieving Goal

🧠 Core Wounds

If you carry beliefs like “I’m not enough,” “Success is unsafe,” or “I don’t matter,” you’ll unconsciously resist the very things you want.

You can shift these stories through tapping, inner child work, journaling, somatics, and meditation.

✨ New story: I am safe. I am enough. My desires are valid. My work matters.

🔁 Conflicting Beliefs

You might consciously crave success—while subconsciously fearing burnout, rejection, or losing your freedom. These internal conflicts can quietly create patterns of self-sabotage and resistance.

To shift this, build your nervous system’s capacity to receive what you desire. Use visualization and embodiment practices to gently feel into the emotions your dreams will bring—peace, pride, ease, abundance.

Teach your body that success doesn’t have to mean stress. It can feel nourishing. It can feel supported. It can feel safe. It can feel inevitable.

🤝 Lack of Trust

High-achievers often over-function because they fear things won’t happen without their effort.

But the journey is co-creative. Your effort and your energy matter and so does your trust.

Make space for the magic.

The Universal Laws

Law of Compensation

You are compensated in direct proportion to the value you provide, the significance of the work you do, and how difficult it is to replace you.

If you're aiming to earn more—financially or otherwise—look first at the value you're creating.

  • Is your work solving meaningful problems?

  • Is it needed?

  • Is it unique or hard to replicate?

Compensation isn't just about time or effort. It's about impact.

The Law of Karma & Energy

What you put out is what you receive.

Feed your dreams with faith, joy, and generosity—not fear, urgency, or lack.

When you show up and pursue your goals with integrity and love, you shift not just your outcomes, but your entire energy field.

Practical Goal-Setting Rituals

✍️ Write Down 2–3 Goals

Write them in the present tense—as if they’ve already happened.

“I run a profitable, joyful business that impacts millions.”

“I wake up feeling deeply loved, calm, and supported.”

Make it vivid.

People who vividly describe their goals are 1.2–1.4x more likely to achieve them.

💭 Reflect Honestly

  • Do I believe I can have this?

  • Do I feel worthy of it?

  • Does it feel safe to receive?

  • Do I feel like I can hold it?

If the answer is no, explore it with compassion—not judgment. Keep doing the work until the answer is YES.

If they don’t feel safe, place a hand on your heart, land in your body and with conviction say to yourself:

“It’s safe to hold and receive this with ease. I am held. I am enough. Even in uncertainty, I stand in my power.”

🌟 Identity and Embodiment Practice

Journal, visualise and feel into the emotions of the version of yourself who already has your goals.

Journal:

  • What does this version of me believe about themselves and the world?

  • Who are they?

  • How do they walk into a room? How do they walk into meetings?

  • What do they believe about their value? And the work they’re doing?

  • How do they lead? Speak? Decide?

  • What do they say “yes” to? And “no” to?

  • What actions do they take?

  • What beliefs do they have?

  • What are their primary emotions?

Visualise yourself daily living your dreams and feeling into the emotions that achieving your goals will bring – freedom, calm, ease, joy, relief, expansiveness. Feel it. Practice being that version of you now. Throughout your day, make decisions and show up as this version of you. Ask: Is this decision aligned with the version of me that I’m becoming?

Reverse Engineer It

Write:

“I achieved this goal because…”

Then list the habits, mindset, and choices that helped you get there. Use your imagination. Even if you think you don’t know, let yourself write it out as if you did know. Allow yourself to imagine and have fun with it.

What Will You Give?

Every big dream requires exchange. What value will you bring?

💡 Immense value to your colleagues and clients

💡 Courage

💡 Focus

💡 Service

💡 Trust of yourself and life

Declare it. Then live it.

Morning Intentions

Start and end your day with a powerful prayer or energy-shaping affirmations:

  • “I intend to align with the highest version of myself and be a blessing everywhere I go.”

  • “Today is unfolding with grace and alignment.”

  • “I bring value, joy, and presence into every room I enter.”

  • “Opportunities are drawn to me with ease.”

  • “I am grateful for this day. Thank you for all the blessings. I release any negativity from today and I welcome in calm and ease. I am ready to wake as a magnet for abundance, peace and joy.”

These micro-shifts help you get into your heart and compound over time—and change your trajectory.

Decision, Delusion and Faith

There comes a moment when you decide to stop waiting—for permission, or for more clarity, more signs, more proof—and decide that your success is already inevitable.

Not someday. Not after you’ve perfected every detail. Now. Because no one is coming to declare that it’s your time. No one is handing out permission slips. You are the green light. Always have been.

You were never meant to earn your moment—you were meant to assume it. That’s the powerful shift.

Give yourself full permission to believe—without contradiction—that what you desire is already on its way (or already here, if that feels more powerful). That your dream wants you just as much as you want it.

Let yourself trust your vision so fully, it borders on what others might call delusion. Not because you’re avoiding reality—but because you’re choosing to live from a deeper one. The quiet, steady inner knowing that says: You’re meant for more.

Faith means seeing the unseen—and acting from that place. So stop scanning your current circumstances for permission. Place more belief in your vision and inner wisdom than in external proof.

Move like the version of you who already has what you want. Let that future version guide your steps. Because success doesn’t show up when you’re finally “ready.”vIt shows up when you decide to believe it’s already yours.

And most of all:

  • Stop entertaining the illusion that something is missing.

  • You’re not broken. You don’t need fixing.

  • You are good enough.

  • You and your work are valuable right now.

  • Now is your time.

  • Your dreams were put on your heart for a reason. You can do this. You will do this.

Tests

You will be tested. Not to punish you—but to strengthen your character and conviction. You have to become the person who can hold your vision.

Opportunities will arise that tempt you to settle. Fear will try to convince you to shrink or tune out or that no one cares. Doubt will whisper that it’s not safe to bet on yourself.

Stand firm. Lean in when you feel called to shrink. Your power doesn’t come from what you see—it comes from what you decide to believe about yourself and what’s available to you.

Spiritual Work and Gratitude

Show up in gratitude as if your dreams have already landed.

Let every action be an embodiment of that arrival. That energy will carry you through the waiting, the building, and the stretch between where you are and where you’re going.

Keep growing. Keep evolving. Keep showing up as the version of you who already knows this is done.

Let go

Every dream requires that we leave something behind.

A story. An identity. A fear. A version of you that doesn’t belong in the next chapter. An outdated story about who you are. Resentments and anger.

Ask yourself:

  • What old limiting beliefs am I ready to let go of?

  • What version of me no longer serves where I’m headed?

  • What relationships or habits are draining my energy instead of expanding it?

Letting go of the wrong things isn’t loss—it’s alignment. It’s clearing space for everything you’ve been asking for.

Final Words

Your dreams are sacred. They are not random.

They were placed in your heart for a reason—and you have everything within you to create them.

Let your goals become more than milestones.

Let them be a container for your becoming.

You’ve got this.
